I recently started a new business in the cybersecurity industry – Teepee – and one of the first things that I needed was to work with a lawyer to put together all the legal documentation that I needed.

I wanted a lawyer that would provide effective legal counsel at an affordable rate. I had sourced a number of candidates using the website, Upcounsel, which allows lawyers to submit bids much like you would find a Graphic Designer on Upwork. After receiving bids and interviewing five attorneys, I chose Lois Li at Alpine because I thought she was the most knowledgeable and easy to work with. She also provided a competitive quote, which made the decision all the easier.

Lois helped me in three key areas – creating corporate bylaws, drafting a convertible note and creating a stock options plan. All were completed quickly and met my expectations. Each document had its own nuanced technicalities and Lois explained all of them very thoroughly. In some cases, she gave me various options as to what was needed in a document and explained the options in detail. I then made the final decision as to what to put in the document.

The thing that I liked most about working with Lois and Alpine is that communication was very open, quick and well documented over email. There never was a delay of more than 24 hours when I had a question and usually my questions were answered much sooner than that.

I will happily continue to work with Alpine and refer them to others in the business community as I’m extremely happy with the service that they provided to me.
